Wow, @Dave and @Dan agreeing. That would be enough to convince me.
I agree, dev isn't something you can just learn and enjoy. It would be like me buying a pencil and notepad, doing a course on drawing and thinking I'll be an illustrator.
If you are an analytical person who can work out how another person problem solves, then integrate that into your method, go for it. Otherwise you'll probably end up on cookie cutter, process driven projects that won't stimulate your creative side.

@dan - haha well if only there was something like that! I think the thing with snask is, they've built that reputation for that kind of work so people seek them out from around the world to do it. from what I read in their book, there was many a struggle years when they first started out just trying to get by and doing the kind of work they wanted until they got the publicity and accolades for it.

@dan - I did work at an agency where I used to get to travel a lot art directing photoshoots around the world, I guess I could say that was exciting whilst out of the office but as soon as you get back into the office, its the same old thing haha.
I'd love to work for a place like Snask where they use their hands to create a lot of the work they make and looks like a lot of their projects they can kind of just go a bit wild, I mean to me that seems exciting but I can't think of any places in Australia where they do that kind of work.

@dan - sometimes I'm like yeah this project I'm working on is great and I really get to be creative and feel excited by what I'm doing and creating but for the most part I find myself feeling a bit whatever, like I'm creating something that some people would say 'yeah that looks nice' but its in no way ground breaking
the more I'm in the industry the less I feel I'm inspired, I feel a lot of work out there in the industry is good quality but it kind of all feels a bit stale and not interesting to me. I don't know if this is perhaps I've been in the industry longer now or what. overall some agencies I think create great work but for the most part I can't say many agencies or places that I'm like "oh I'd love to work for them" where as in the past I feel I used to feel this way to more places
