::'that's the best one I've ever designed'::
I guess we're just a conduit for the clients unbridled creativity?
It is an issue with the industry.
A lot of people think we do it for fun and they're doing us a favour by setting us a little project that we can rattle out whilst watching TV.
::(but still realise they need it)::
Funnily enough I read a short article just yesterday about a client survey.
Apparently 70% of them expect us to pitch for free. O_o

In my experience I think internships an work experience tend to be a complete waste of time.
A kind of idealistic notion that sounds great in theory but doesn't really work in the real world apart from a few cases.
When I worked at a newspaper we used to get kids come from schools on work experience.
I remember they'd come in thinking they may be doing something exciting or creative and then seeing them stood photocopying all day or just sat around because staff just couldn't be bothered with them.
I couldn't stand to see them looking so disappointed with life so I used to take them on and set them a projects to do where they'd learn something and no matter how small, get something they'd done in print before they left.
The difference was amazing. They'd leave buzzing although I can't help feeling a bit guilty for those that went on to pursue a career in design.

::CA's are only worth the paper they're written on. If any of them steal your idea then it becomes a legal matter and up to if you go down that path.::
I'd urge caution here too.
This is the way the band The Gorillaz was conceived.

@Scotty - I'm late to the party, but there's nothing worse than a screen poker. Particularly when you're on an older LCD monitor and you get that psychedelic explosion from where they thought it necessary to dig in their finger.
@Adamdesigns - I've had more than one art director lean on my shoulder while I was doing something. I'm 6'3", so I think they often do it as a bit of a power play.
@Jamesb - Nice work man!

Thanks @scotty and solid work with the wall piece, looks fun to do?
In the meantime:
Work in progress. Once again experimenting with photoshop brushes and photo montage. Got a bit to go with this one though the foundations are in.

@pongo81 - sounds like a great gift and as @scotty was saying, even the new bamboo's are great value, the one I have at work, although I don't use it, is pretty good!
I just ordered a 13inch cintiq hd, should arrive in the next couple of days, I'm pretty excited as I never really got used to the idea of drawing whilst not being able to see directly where the pen is.

@scotty nice one, always good to see work in situ! I wonder what it feels like to be in a "fight team"...
A new one for me. It's the A-League Finals series, a couple of great games last weekend. What started as a sketch turned into an impromptu portrait.
