Three Word Advice is run by Corey James and Maegan Brown: Graphic Designers and type-enthusiasts from Perth WA.
The project was started by Corey for the purpose of practising and collecting typography in one location, offering up a one-stop resource for type design; this evolved into a study of language, copy writing, humour, self-reflection and minimalism – ascending a purely aesthetic process.
Ideally, the ambition is to establish a place where designers can showcase typography and lettering by selecting from a myriad of amusing & insightful pieces of advice to design from. Not only is the advice entertaining and thought-provoking, but gives designers the freedom to practice type using set copy that, ultimately, contributes to a greater project. It’s the coming together of designers everywhere, sharing a relationship with the public over a series of eclectic wisdom – beautifully designed.
Three Word Advice recently exhibited work at the Perth 2012 Beaufort St. Festival, using chalk boards as a means of interacting with the public.
